Lotion Bars
EssentialRecipes.Com
basic formula:
1 part beeswax (makes the bar more stable/harder)
1 part shea or any type butter (for softer bar)
OR cocoa butter (for harder bar)or mix both
to equal one part.
1 part coconut oil (or other liquid oil) I like jojoba, for scent add a teaspoon or so more or less to taste. You could add a little cornstarch to make the bar smoother in texture but not necessary.
note: approx. amt. of cornstarch might be say 1/6th cup for seven ounces of product to give you an idea.or 1/3 c for 14 oz. I have added mica, seawead/kelp granules, sandalwood and rose powders, azduki, mung or dried garbanzo beans to the bottom of the bar for massage type (awesome on the feet) and lots of other things.
For shape I use soap moulds, tassie (baby cupcake pan) pan with chocolate candy paper wrappers, lipbalm,.50oz and deordant tubes, goat cheese containers etc.
If you get a good batch, you can make more of it unscented and store in larger container (fridge) and use on as-needed basis. For color, micas, as well as candle color by Yaley (only tiny slivers)
are only two suggestions. I package them in gussetted 1/4 lb.poly cello bags sealed with my label or a sticker depending on purpose. A rosebud in the bag for rosie scents, a bay leaf,(use imagination) sprinkle a little sparkle on top.
